WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (1010 WINS) -- A Connecticut divorce lawyer shot and killed his 55-year-old wife — who had COVID-19 — on Christmas Day before turning the gun on himself, according to a report.
Suffield divorce attorney John Liquori, 59, and wife Cindy Liquori, who owned Cindy's Soap Cottage in East Windsor, died in an apparent murder-suicide at her mother's home on Friday, the Hartford Courant reported, citing information from investigators.
Cindy Liquori was dog-sitting for her mother, who was hospitalized with COVID-19, at the home on Dale Street when her husband shot her as she was sleeping, the outlet reported.
Her husband, who may also have had COVID-19, lay down next to her and shot himself after killing her, according to the outlet.
Before the shooting, John Liquori called his wife's brother and "asked him to come over and pick up [the] dogs," the outlet reported.
A second conversation the two had after the first phone call "raised serious concerns," as John Liquori sounded distraught, Windsor Locks Detective Sgt. Jeff Lampson told the outlet.
Cindy Liquori's brother found their bodies inside the home around 6 p.m. that night, according to the outlet.
Lampson told the outlet the couple did not appear to be estranged. An investigation is ongoing.
