NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A Connecticut man was arrested after TSA agents allegedly found a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag at Newark Airport, marking the second gun-related arrest at the transportation hub in a week.
TSA agents took the Sherman resident into custody on Tuesday after he sent a bag containing a loaded 9mm handgun through an X-ray machine at the airport, the agency said in a press release.
The man faces weapons charges, as well as a "stiff federal financial civil penalty," the agency said.
The Connecticut resident's arrest came a week after a California woman was cuffed after TSA agents found a handgun in her carry-on bag.
