HARTFORD, CT (1010 WINS) -- Connecticut reported 22 new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, as well as nearly 100 new hospitalizations, Gov. Ned Lamont said.

As of Sunday evening, 757 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 659 last Thursday evening, Lamont said at a news briefing.

The 22 new fatalities, which were reported on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, brought the state’s death toll to 4,759, he said.

Of the 86,210 COVID-19 test results that came back on those three days, 4,639, or 5.38 percent, were positive, he added.

“Again hospitalizations is the number that we’re looking at carefully, and this is a number that, you’ll see, is continuing to go up,” he said.

Lamont on Monday afternoon also said he had tested negative for COVID-19 earlier in the day. He and other members of his office began self-quarantining on Friday, after his spokesperson Max Reiss tested positive for COVID-19.
