HARTFORD, CT (1010 WINS) -- Connecticut's COVID-19 infection rate dipped below 8 percent on Tuesday, but the state recorded another jump in hospitalizations, Gov. Ned Lamont said Wednesday.
Of the 30,279 COVID-19 test results that came back in the state on Tuesday, 2,290, or 7.56 percent, were positive, Lamont tweeted Wednesday afternoon. On Monday, Connecticut recorded a 8.65 percent infection rate — its highest rate since it began widespread testing.
As of Tuesday evening, 1,262 people in Connecticut were hospitalized with COVID-19, up by 39 from Monday, the governor said.
The state also reported 43 new COVID-19 related fatalities, pushing its death toll to 5,285.
