PATERSON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A couple found dead in their New Jersey home Monday morning died in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said.
Officers were called to a residence located at 162 Redwood Ave in Paterson at 7:45 a.m. after reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, Chacquese Barnes, 33, and Julius McCutcheon, 34, were discovered dead inside the home, a joint statement from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the Paterson Police Department said.
According to officials, Barnes appeared to have been shot and killed by McCutcheon, who then fatally shot himself.
McCutcheon was described in the statement as Barnes' "significant other."
The incident remains under investigation.
