ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Officials arrested a couple that broke into a New Jersey home then helped themselves to food, a shower as well as jewelry, and a cell phone last week while the babysitter and a young child were inside the home.

Alex Ray Yeakley and Amanda Lentz from Pennsylvania even had sex in the home, sources told The Daily Voice.

"As the investigation continues, it is believed that the pair had been inside the home for a period of time before they were discovered," Englewood Police Chief Lawrence Suffern said in a press release, where the couple "may have utilized the shower" and taken "other liberties" while inside the home last Friday.

Police said the sitter found the couple just before 10:30 p.m., who fled but still managed to grab some jewelry, a wallet, and the homeowner's iPhone.

The couple, who arrived at the home in a 2003 Toyota Corolla drove off in the homeowner's Lincoln Navigator, according to officials.

Englewood detectives used the stolen iPhone to track down the couple in Orange County, NY shortly after.

Officers chased the duo into Chester and used spike strips to help capture the couple the Daily Voice's report added.

Authorities said the couple then attempt to flee on foot but were quickly caught, authorities said.

Yeakley and Lentz were being held at a New York jail pending extradition.

Their corolla was seized as part of their investigation which remains ongoing.
