STAMFORD, CT. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Connecticut mother's murder case has resumed after four years following her disappearance as jury selection will commence on Wednesday for the deceased husband's ex-girlfriend's trial, authorities said.
Jennifer Dulos vanished during her divorce and custody dispute with her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, in May 2019. Despite extensive search efforts, her body was never discovered. However, blood traces found in her home and discarded items in Hartford led authorities and her family to believe she is dead.
Richard Weinstein, who has been representing Jennifer Dulos' mother, Gloria Farber. "I believe the family will feel much better with the idea that it's finally moving forward after more than four years," Weinstein told the StamfordAdvocate.
Fotis took his own life in January 2020 and insisted he was innocent in a suicide note found near his body. Fotis' former girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, is now facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and evidence tampering in connection to the disappearance and presumed death of Jennifer.

The remaining defendants are Troconis and his attorney and friend, Kent Mawhinney. Both pled not guilty.
"I don't know how long it will take to get a jury based on the evidence I presented to the judge in the change-of-venue hearing because of all the publicity, I would expect it would take upwards of a month," Troconis' attorney, Jon Schoenhorn told the StamfordAdvocate.
Troconis lived with Fotis at the time of Jennifer's disappearance, and video footage allegedly showed her going with Fotis as he threw out bags containing Jennifer's blood and DNA.
The actual trial is expected to begin in January.
