WATERBURY, Conn. (WCBS 880) — A Connecticut public school district has placed a teacher on leave, reportedly after she allegedly left her two young children home alone for two days and nights.

WFSB reports Kerry Lyn Caviasca was arrested on Saturday for leaving her two children, who are under 12 years old, while she went out of state.
Caviasca, a teacher for Waterbury Public Schools, has been reportedly charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and two counts of reckless endangerment in the second degree.
She was released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 5.
School officials commended Caviasca's alleged conduct in a statement.
"Waterbury Public Schools has been informed of a pending allegation regarding a Waterbury Public School staff member," officials said. "The alleged actions do not represent the values of our district. The teacher has been placed on leave while the district conducts an investigation."
