NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday that he believes Democratic nominee Joe Biden will beat President Trump but that he's "nervous" about what Trump will do after the election.
While appearing on ABC's "The View," Cuomo was asked by co-host Whoopi Goldberg how he thought the presidential race would play out in the coming days.
Cuomo said he thought "the energy is great all across the country" among voters and that was "very good news for Joe Biden."
"I believe Joe Biden is going to win the election. I'm just a little nervous about what Mr. Trump does post-election," the governor said.
"You know, the president winds up forecasting where he's going. And he's been talking for months about 'election fraud' and 'Democratic fraud.' And he actually said the other day, 'The only way we lose is if there's fraud,'" Cuomo said. "So I hope he takes the defeat with some honor and doesn't try to go into the courts and play games that way."
During his appearance, Cuomo again said that he blames Trump "for every death" from COVID in the U.S.
"I'm holding you-know-who responsible for every death in this country," the governor said, adding that Trump "lied about it from day one" and that the White House was "totally incompetent in what they did."
Cuomo also defended criticism over his controversial March order that sent recovering COVID patients to nursing homes. On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced it was expanding its inquiry into New York's nursing home deaths.
"What a shock that the Department of 'Injustice' sends a letter a few days before an election trying to advance a political theory," Cuomo said.
The governor said the Trump administration has "done a terrible job on COVID from day one and they want a counter-defense" by focusing on nursing home deaths in Democratic-led states.
"The conspiracy they're trying to spread just has no factual basis," Cuomo said.
