NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — New York City is bracing for a stormy Wednesday afternoon, with the possibility of destructive wind gusts and hail.
According to AccuWeather, the afternoon will start cloudy, but a few showers and a thunderstorm are possible as the evening arrives.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the five boroughs and Long Island.
Any thunderstorm can result in a downpour with locally damaging wind gusts and small hail. The high is 76.
On Wednesday night, there could be showers and thunderstorms in some spots. Otherwise, it will be clearing and cooler after midnight. The low will be 59.

By Thursday, the city could see sunshine and some clouds. The high will be near 80.
Friday should be cloudier and cooler, with a couple of showers and, in spots, a thunderstorm. The high will be 73.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds, with a potential shower around Sunday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.
