NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Detectives launched an investigation into the death of a 7-month-old infant in New Jersey over the weekend, officials said.
Officers responded to a residence in the vicinity of Avon Avenue and South 10th Street in Newark on Sunday evening for a report of an unresponsive infant, according to Thomas Fennelly, Chief Assistant Prosecutor at Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The child was transported to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Fennelly added.
