EMT arrested for allegedly tossing Molotov cocktails at 4 ambulance facilities in Connecticut

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- An EMT was arrested on Saturday after allegedly using Molotov cocktails to set fires at four ambulance facilities in Connecticut, police said.

Richard White, 37, fled the state and was arrested around 10 p.m., in Pennsylvania after he allegedly targeted EMS agencies in Meriden, Old Saybrook, and Roxbury, NBC Connecticut reported.

White is accused of setting fires at all locations using Molotov cocktails, according to officials.

He is an EMT for the state of Connecticut, according to Old Saybrook police

“This individual has targeted those who we count on to save lives," Old Saybrook Police Chief Michael Spera said. “Our officers have worked diligently all evening obtaining both search and arrest warrants in an effort to quickly stop these violent attacks against public safety and cause the suspect to be taken into custody.”

White is facing arson and burglary charges and is expected to be extradited to Connecticut.

There were no injuries reported from the attacks, police said.
