Ex-NJ acting teacher admits to inappropriate sexual contact with student in 2019

ASBURY PARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A former acting teacher at a New Jersey academy admitted for having inappropriate sexual contact with a student in 2019, authorities said Wednesday.

Douglas Bollinger, 57, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child on Monday, prosecutors said.


According to investigators, between February and August 2019, Bollinger had sexual contact with a female student in Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park while working as a teacher Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Academy in Toms River, authorities said.

Bollinger was arrested at his residence on Aug. 15. by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Bollinger will be sentenced to parole supervision for life, placed on the Megan's Law sexual offender registry, and is permanently barred from having contact with the victim.

He will also be required to forfeit any future public employment and teaching certifications in New Jersey.

His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10.
