NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A former Long Island butler was arrested at a Boston airport attempting to flee the country after using his ex-employer’s information to buy thousands of dollars of liquor, authorities said Thursday.

The 34-year-old man, James Mounsey of Ireland, allegedly bought $6,000 worth of liquor on June 22 using his former employer’s information at a local liquor store in Southhampton two months after he was fired.

Detectives attempted to try and get Mounsey to turn himself in but he refused to cooperate with police. A warrant for his arrest was filed shortly after.

While attempting to flee the country back to Ireland, Mounsey was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Agents at the Boston airport.

Mounsey was brought back to New York where he was arraigned on grand larceny charges, identity theft and possession of stolen property.
