Former NJ elementary teacher charged with sexually assaulting multiple children

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A former New Jersey elementary school teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting multiple children less than two weeks after he was charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student, prosecutors said Saturday.

Gustavo Barrientos, 53, was charged with assaulting the 10-year-old student back on Feb. 14.


After an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Long Branch Police, Barrientos was charged with sexually assaulting multiple other elementary school children, prosecutors said.

Barrientos was an elementary school teacher in the Long Branch School District and at the Red Bank Charter School, according to prosecutors.

Authorities said they're still seeking additional information about Barrientos. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det.
