Here's which horror movie or TV show is most popular in NY, NJ, CT

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Halloween is right around the corner, and while many places have seen October events scaled back this year because of the pandemic, people are still home streaming their favorite horror movies and shows.

The tech review site Comparitech used IMDb's top horror list and Google Trends to figure out the most popular horror movies or TV show in all 50 states.


In the Tri-State, New York and Connecticut shared the same favorite horror movie, while New Jersey favored a classic TV series.

The 1999 film "Sleepy Hollow" starring Johnny Depp was the most popular in New York and Connecticut, according to the list.

Although the movie was filmed in North Carolina, Washington Irving's classic story of the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane was set in the Hudson Valley in the 1790s.

The horror favorite in New Jersey was "The Twilight Zone," Rod Serling's timeless 1960 series that explores tales of the strange and macabre. One of the show's episodes, "The Mighty Casey," takes place in Hoboken.
