Hochul encouraged the students to make a difference on issues like LGBTQ+ rights, climate change and abortion.

“Wherever their career and life takes them, I have no doubt that the class of 2022 will make a big impact on New York State and beyond,” wrote the governor on Twitter after her speech at the college’s uptown campus. “I can’t wait to see what they do.”

Hochul announced she tested positive for coronavirus on May 8 and has now broken her quarantine six days later.

The CDC recommends quarantining for at least five days and only ending the isolation period once all symptoms are gone.

Hochul said she was asymptomatic when she first tested positive.

Even if asymptomatic, the CDC recommends refraining from traveling until at least 10 days after the first positive test.
