DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A refrigerator containing a human body was found at a state forest in New Jersey this week, authorities said—a week after hunters in the state came across a dead man in a separate case.
The body was found in an abandoned fridge at Belleplain State Forest in Dennis Township, Cape May County, around 3 p.m. Sunday, according to state police.
“NJSP are actively investigating a body that was found in the woods of Belleplain,” Dennis Township Mayor Zeth Matalucci said on Facebook, adding “there’s no threat to the public.”
The person inside the fridge wasn’t immediately identified by police, and it's not yet clear how they died or ended up there.
This isn't the first body found in New Jersey woodlands over the past week. Four Indiana men were charged Sunday in connection with the murder of a man who hunters found shot to death last week at Greenwood Wildlife Management Area in Ocean County.
