N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a married couple accused of stealing over $91,000 from a youth soccer league in New Jersey, officials announced Monday.
Joseph and Kathleen Murawski were charged with theft of movable property over $75,000, conspiracy to commit theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
The Old Bridge Soccer League alerted officials earlier this year of an issue with the league's accounts.
Det. Jessica Caffey launched a six month investigation, which included multiple subpoenas of bank and credit card records, officials said.
The investigation determined that the couple made unauthorized withdrawals of money from the league's accounts to fund personal purchases including expenses related to a trip to Walt Disney World and other travel, an extravagant party for their daughter, Amazon purchases as well as utility bills for their home.
Kathleen is a former president of the league, while Joseph served as the field director for the same league.
They were taken to the Middlesex County Correction Center and are awaiting a detention hearing, officials said.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Caffey at jcaffey@oldbridge.com.
