NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An intoxicated woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly attacking her husband at a restaurant on Long Island and driving off in her SUV with children inside, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Elizabeth Maldonado, 34, of Hicksville, was arrested for driving while intoxicated around 11 p.m. Sunday, police said.

According to authorities, Maldonado and her 34-year-old husband got into an argument at a restaurant in Mineola. The argument escalated, and Maldonado allegedly punched her husband in the face.

She then left the scene in a 2022 Dodge Durango with their three children—ages 6, 7, and 14—as well as a 14-year-old male juvenile.

Maldonado's husband called 911, and officers responded to their Hicksville residence to investigate the incident.

While at the residence, police saw the black Durango return home with the children inside. After an investigation, police determined that Maldonado was intoxicated and arrested her without incident.

Maldonado was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger under 16, endangering the welfare of a child, DWI, and aggravated DWI.
