NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Long Island pastor was arrested and charged with the production of child pornography following an online tip on Thursday, the FBI said.
Following the online tip which suggested Jose Saez Jr. was engaging in sexual activities with minors, the FBI issued a search warrant of his house.
Agents allegedly found "numerous" videos of child pornography on his cellphone.
Saez Jr. was a pastor at a local church in Brentwood, according to officials.
"The production of child pornography is one of the most horrendous crimes we deal with in our society," said James Smith, assistant director in charge of FBI New York. "It is even more concerning when the crime is allegedly committed by a leader in a local house of worship."
FBI New York is urging any victims or those with information concerning Jose Saez Jr. to come forward and contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
