
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An apartment fire at a building in Murray Hill, Manhattan on Sunday morning killed a man, authorities said.
The 1-alarm fire began at the five-story residential building located near Third Avenue and East 38th Street at about 6:30 a.m. and was under control by 7:10 a.m., the FDNY said.
One person was in critical condition after the blaze and rushed to an area hospital, where police said that the man was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Citizen App footage from the scene shows a line of firetrucks in front of the building, one with a ladder outstretched, and emergency medical personnel.
An investigation by the fire marshal will determine the cause of the fire.
