1 pedestrian killed in Brooklyn hit-and-run, another in Queens DWI

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two pedestrians were killed in separate incidents in Brooklyn and Queens on Friday, according to police.

Anthony Ramjit, 41, fatally hit, 23-year-old Tecinna Bahadur with a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse around 6:46 p.m. on the Van Wyck Expressway Service Road near 107th Avenue in Jamaica, officials said

EMS rushed the woman to  Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police arrested Ramjit at the scene and charged him with DWI.

About two hours later, a red truck hit two people at the intersection of Mermaid Avenue and West 24th Street in Coney Island, authorities said.

The truck slammed into 41-year-old Tamika Richards and an 18-year-old man who were crossing the street and sped off.

Richards was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island. The man was brought to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn in stable condition.

Both incidents are still under investigation.
