NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — One man was killed and another was injured in a drive-by shooting outside of a Bronx funeral home on Friday evening, police said.
The victims were standing amid a crowd outside of the Parkchester Funeral Home on Unionport Road at Olmstead Avenue, when a shooter in a grey Chevy Equinox fired into the crowd around 7:08 p.m., police said.
Leshaun Whitefield, 37, of the Bronx, was shot in his chest in the attack, while another unidentified 27-year-old man was struck in his right leg, according to the NYPD.
Both victims were transported to Jacobi Medical Center, Where Whitefield was pronounced dead.
The other victim is in stable condition, police said.
