NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – As many as 15 robbers in ski masks stormed a Brooklyn home and overwhelmed residents Sunday night during a home invasion, police said.

Investigators believe 10 and 15 males were involved in the mob robbery around 8:45 p.m. at a private residence on 47th Street in Sunset Park.

The group of thieves forced their way into the home near Eighth Avenue, stealing currency and cell phones but leaving the residents physically unharmed, according to cops.

It's unclear if the home was specifically targeted by the group or randomly chosen. While mobs of thieves have been known to target businesses, it's uncommon to hear about them rushing a home.

No arrests have been reported as the NYPD continues to investigate.

Police haven't yet released images or additional descriptions of the suspects.
