NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Cops and canines are a common crime-fighting duo, so it comes as no surprise that the New York City Police Foundation has paired them up for its 2021 calendar.

The cover boy is Eddie, a bomb-sniffing dog named after slain NYPD officer Eddie Byrne. The pooch joined the force in 2018.
“I’m thrilled he’s being featured on the cover,” recently retired Lt. Brian Corrigan, who was assigned to Eddie, told The New York Post.
Each month features police dogs and horses, some with the officers they are assigned to.
"These K9s truly are a New Yorker’s best friend,” said Susan Birnbaum, president of the foundation. “Every day they work to keep us safe by sniffing out explosives, protecting our transit system, and fighting terrorism. We are proud to honor them with this calendar."
The calendars are $20 and proceeds go toward the New York City Police Foundation.
