NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A three-alarm fire in a three-story mixed use building injured eleven people on Sunday in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood, according to the FDNY.

The fire started just before 4 p.m. on 6th Avenue near 57th Street, officials said.

The building housed a business called Speedy E-Bike on the bottom floor and apartments on the top two floors.

Less than 15 minutes after the fire was reported to the FDNY, the department upgraded it to a three-alarm fire.

Firefighters got the blaze under control around 5:11 p.m.

Nine civilians and two firefighters were injured, according to authorities.

One of the firefighters was treated on the scene. Emergency responders brought everyone else to Maimonides Medical Center or NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn.

The FDNY did not announce the conditions of those injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
