NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police arrested over a dozen people at a "Cancel Rent" protest in lower Manhattan on Wednesday.

Protesters gathered near City Hall on Wednesday afternoon to call for rent and mortgages payments to be halted amid the pandemic.


Citizen App video show protesters sitting in a roadway near Steve Flanders Square with signs that read "Cancel Rent" and "Fund Excluded Workers." They chanted "shut it down" and banged drums.

Fourteen people were ultimately arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, according to the New York Post.
