NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Fourteen people were injured, one of them critically, in a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning incident in the Bronx on Wednesday morning, according to police and fire officials.

The FDNY received a call around 6:45 a.m. about an activated carbon monoxide alarm in a building at East 180th Street and Mapes Avenue in East Tremont.

The injured were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, one of them with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Additional details weren't immediately available. Authorities remained at the scene after 10 a.m.
