NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 19-year-old was arrested on Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in SoHo last week, according to police.

The suspect, Henry Thomas, who lives in Alphabet City, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals early Friday morning, according to sources.

Thomas is facing murder charges, police confirmed.

Police had been searching for two suspects who fled the scene on a Citi Bike, and it wasn't immediately clear if Thomas was the suspected shooter.

The break in the case comes a little over a week after Mahki Brown, of Brooklyn, was shot at a pedestrian plaza next to the Dominick Hotel on Spring Street last Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting around 2:30 p.m. left Brown with gunshot wounds to his head and thigh. He was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. His funeral was held in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, on Thursday.

Brown attended Broome Street Academy Charter High School, which is a couple blocks south of where he was shot. Police have said he was trying to break up a fight between two girls at the time.
