
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Five people were injured during a Bronx apartment building fire Sunday morning, FDNY officials said.
The flames erupted on the top floor of a five-story residential building at 1316 Morris Avenue in Concourse Village around 10:45 a.m., authorities said.
The two-alarm fire quickly spread to about 25 units and required more than 100 firefighters to respond.
Two of the five people injured are in critical condition. They were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln for treatment.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 11:20 a.m. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
