NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A two-alarm fire erupted early Saturday at a Brooklyn apartment building injuring fifteen people, FDNY officials said.
The fire began on the first floor of the seven-story building at 2665 Homecrest Avenue in Sheepshead Bay around 3 a.m., authorities said.
It took over an hour for 118 firefighters to put out the fire which spread quickly, according to officials.
Fifteen people, including three firefighters, were injured during the fire but the FDNY said the injuries were all minor. The firefighters were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
