NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 10-year-old girl and a 74-year-old woman were struck by vehicles and killed in separate incidents in Brooklyn Tuesday, just hours apart.

The NYPD said a 62-year-old man was driving a Buick, when he made a left turn from Wallabout Street to Franklin Street, when he hit the girl.
Police found her in the road with severe trauma to her body.
She was transported to a Brooklyn hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Earlier in the afternoon, shortly after 1 p.m. in Flatbush, the 74-year-old woman tripped while crossing Avenue D and was hit by a driver who was turning on to Avenue D and did not see her. The driver stayed at the scene.
She was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating both incidents.
