Bronx crash leaves 2 dead, including LI teen, and 2 in critical

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Two people died and two others are in critical condition after a high-speed crash in the Bronx early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The collision occurred in the vicinity of Bryant and Viele avenues in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx at around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning, officials said.

A white Chrysler 300, driven by a 23-year-old man, struck a parked, unoccupied truck, police said.

When emergency personnel responded, they found two victims of the crash dead at the scene.

Gilvante Roberson, 21, of Brooklyn, and Sabrina Villa-Gomez, 15, of Long Island, died in the crash.

Police said that the driver and a 17-year-old girl, who was a rear passenger in the Chrysler, were transported to the hospital and are in critical condition.

According to EMS, one victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, and the other was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle is not under arrest, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
