NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two firefighters were hospitalized after battling a large fire at an upper Manhattan apartment building on Tuesday night.

The inferno erupted in a top-floor apartment at 74 Post Ave., near Academy Street, in Inwood around 7 p.m.

It took firefighters nearly four hours to get the fire under control, according to the New York Post.

Video from Citizen App and the FDNY shows flames and smoke rising from the building as firefighters respond.

The two firefighters who were injured were taken to North Central Bronx Hospital.

The FDNY said Fire Marshals found the four-alarm blaze was an accidental electrical fire.

"Smoke alarm present but not activated," the department tweeted Wednesday.
