2 men slashed in separate incidents on Bronx, Queens subways

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — The NYPD is investigating after two men were slashed in separate incidents on Bronx and Queens subways on Wednesday night.

At around 10:50 p.m., a 51-year-old man was aboard a southbound 4 train at 167th Street station in Highbridge.


According to officials, two men attempted to got through his bag. The victim confronted the men and the suspects slashed him in the face before exiting the train and fled the location.

The victim remained on the train and exited at the 149th Street station, where he reported the incident to authorities.

He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

Police are searching for two men. One was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and black hat.

At about 11:50 p.m., a 58-year-old man was slashed in the arm and forehead on an A subway train platform at the 111th Street station in Ozone Park.

Officials said the man got into a dispute with two suspects at the time of the attack. The suspects were last seen wearing black jackets and black masks and did not take anything from the victim.

The victim went to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in either incident and an investigation remains ongoing.
