NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two unrelated North Carolina gun runners were arrested in Harlem this week, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Police arrested Zaquan Gaillard, 32, on Wednesday after he sold 16 semi-automatic pistols worth more than $28,000 in total to an undercover NYPD officer, officials said.
Gaillard and the undercover met on seven different occasions from December 2021 to April 2022, according to authorities.
He was arrested while selling two guns to the undercover in the cop’s car near 149th Street and Covenant Avenue in Harlem, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said.
Gaillard would buy from multiple suppliers in North and South Carolina, drive the guns to New York City and then sell them for up to twice the price he bought them for, according to prosecutors.
Gaillard faces 17 charges of criminal sale of a firearm.

“This is our second case this week against a gun trafficker from North Carolina, which once again puts a direct spotlight on how the iron pipeline is undermining public safety in New York City,” said Bragg. “These consecutive indictments of traffickers make clear that our office will vigorously pursue gun cases and other forms of dangerous violent crime in our city.”
Tyreke Colon, a 24-year-old also from North Carolina, was indicted on Tuesday for allegedly selling 36 guns to a different undercover officer in Harlem.
