NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two NYPD officers were injured Wednesday morning when a fare dodger fought them at a Bronx subway station, police said.
The officers responded just before 7 a.m. to a 911 call about a fare evader at the 149th Street–Grand Concourse station.
When they confronted the man, he physically fought them, police said.
Both officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the melee, including injuries to their knees and fingers.
The man was ultimately subdued and arrested, police said.
Charges against him were pending.
