NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two students were stabbed at a Queens high school on Thursday afternoon, police said, sending the school into a lockdown.
It’s unclear what led up to the double stabbing around 1 p.m. at Martin Van Buren High School in Bellerose. Two boys, both 17, were injured.
One victim suffered a stab wound to his stomach, while the other was stabbed in the stomach and shoulder, according to police. Both of them were in stable condition.

One person was taken into custody; it’s unclear if they are also a student at the school.
"The safety and well being of our students is our absolute top priority. NYPD immediately responded to an incident at the school. Students were placed on a brief soft lockdown and have now been dismissed. We will be providing additional emotional supports to any student who needs it," Jenna Lyle, spokesperson for the Department of Education, said.
