NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after two teen boys were shot, one fatally when a gunman opened fire in Brooklyn Wednesday.
At around 2:30 p.m. officials responded to a 911 call of reports that two people had been shot in front of a building on East 26th Street in Flatbush.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Derek Tiucios shot in the chest and a 16-year-old boy that had been shot in the hand.
The 17-year-old boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital were he was pronounced dead.

The second teen was also taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
The suspected gunman attempted to rob the teens, brandished a black fire arm, and then opened fire, WABC-TV reports.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, the report adds.
The gunman fled in an unknown direction, officials said.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation remains ongoing.
