NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two teens were arrested in the murder of a 16-year-old Bronx boy, who was shot by gunmen on scooters last weekend, police said Sunday.

Mekhi Williams, 19, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree murder, as well as gang assault, conspiracy, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

A 15-year-old boy was also charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Ramon Gil-Medrano, 16, was shot and killed at E. 178 Street and Valentine Avenue in the Mt. Hope section last Sunday night.

Police said the victim was sitting in the back of a black livery cab when he was shot by two gunmen riding scooters.

Police believe Gil-Medrano was targeted and that the gang-related shooting may have been retaliation for the deadly shooting of a 13-year-old boy in the Bronx earlier in the day Sunday, according to PIX11.
