NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two teens were killed hours apart in shootings in Queens and the Bronx, police said Thursday.

The deadly shootings happened over a seven-hour span on Wednesday.


Police said Eduardo Hernandez, 17, was shot on 40th Road, at Warren Street, in Elmhurst just before 4:30 p.m.

Hernandez, of Queens, was shot twice in the body, police said.

He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Later on Wednesday, Tyquill Daugherty, 19, was shot and killed on Prospect Avenue, near E. 181st Street, in the Belmont section of the Bronx around 11:30 p.m.

Police said Daugherty, of the Bronx, was found unresponsive by officers after being shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

No arrests have been reported in either shooting, police said. Investigations into the killings are ongoing.
