
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two men were shot near the Bronx’s Little Italy Saturday morning, the NYPD said.
According to officials, the shooting occurred just after 9:15 a.m. at 2348 Arthur Avenue in Belmont.
A 19-year-old victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, and a 22-year-old victim was shot in the armpit, police said.
Authorities said the victims are expected to survive after they were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital.
According to a report from ABC7, nearly half a dozen shots were fired out of the window of an SUV at the victims who were in a black Ford Explorer.
ABC7 reported that the victims drove about a half-block away from where the shooting occurred to seek help, and three suspects were allegedly seen fleeing in an older gray Toyota.
There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
