2-year-old child grazed with bullet in Bronx daylight shooting

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A two-year-old boy was hit with a bullet during a shooting in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Concourse and East Fordham Avenue in Fordham Heights, a two-year-old child was leaving the bank with his mother when a bullet grazed his hip.

The boy was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition, and police said that he was conscious and alert despite his injuries.

Police said that four shots were fired from across the street, and multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene.

The suspect was last seen running north on Creston Avenue toward 190th Street, officials said.

Other circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear.

There have been no arrests, and an investigation is ongoing.
