NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Norway Spruce from the Berkshires in Massachusetts has been chosen as the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, officials announced Monday.

The pine is located in the town of West Stockbridge, about 40 miles southeast of Albany.

It’s the first Rockefeller Center tree to hail from Massachusetts since 1959, officials said.

The spruce will be felled on Nov. 7 and then hauled south to Manhattan, where it will arrive at Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown on Nov. 9.

The tree will be decorated with 50,000 lights and crowned with a Swarovski star before the annual lighting and “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” broadcast on Dec. 4.

The glorious evergreen will be on display on the plaza through the holidays, until mid-January 2025, officials said.
