NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The junior varsity football season at Brooklyn’s James Madison High School was canceled following a hazing incident involving three students, according to the city's Department of Education.

Two 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old were charged with unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching after they allegedly held down and inappropriately touched a 14-year-old teammate on Oct. 16. The students were charged as juveniles, and their names have not been released.

Michael, a student who saw the video of the incident, told 1010 WINS, "They should get suspended. I think it's good [the season was canceled] so they can learn their lesson."

“Bullying and harassment, including hazing, have no place in our schools – period,” Department of Education spokesperson Nathaniel Styer said in a statement Monday. “Upon hearing reports of hazing, the school immediately acted. Parents were immediately notified, the school is providing supports, and an investigation is ongoing.”

No further comments have been made by the school administration or the football coach.
