NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Three men who were driving to the Bronx from Massachusetts to record a music video were arrested last week for carrying a gun, police said.

Bryan Tejada, 22, Jose Ruiz, 21, and Edgar Perez, 20, were driving from Massachusetts where they lived in a Nissan Altima to the Bronx when they were pulled over near Clinton and E. Tremont Aves. because the car's windows were heavily tinted, according to cops.

The reason for their trip was to record a music video.

In the trunk, police found an AR-15 rifle, loaded with 40 bullets, plus two magazines.

Ruiz, carrying an extended magazine with 26 bullets and a loaded 9-mm. handgun tried to escape but was caught by police.

"They said they felt they needed the guns for protection," a police source told the Daily News, "because they were going to be in the Bronx."

All three were charged with gun possession and possession of ammunition.
