NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Three men pretending to be NYPD officers mugged two teens in lower Manhattan on Friday, police said.

The trio of robbers went up to two 17-year-old boys on Walker Street, between Church Street and Broadway in Tribeca, and told the teens they were police officers, according to the NYPD.

The men demanded to see the IDs of the victims, who handed over their wallets, police said.

The men then stole as much as $350 from the teens and threatened to kill the victims if they didn't leave the area, according to police.

The New York Post reported that the robbers also attacked a street vendor in Chinatown about 15 minutes later.

The vendor was punched in the head by the trio following an argument, according to the report. He was treated at an area hospital.

The suspects then reportedly fled on an uptown R train at the Canal Street station.
