NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Three men were stabbed Monday morning as Carnival festivities were kicking off near the West Indian Day Parade route in Crown Heights, leaving one victim in critical condition, police said.
The three victims were wounded in two stabbings, less than 30 minutes apart on a stretch of Utica Avenue between Carroll and President streets. Police said there is one suspect on the loose.
In the first attack just after 5:45 a.m., a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the face. Minutes later, just before 6:15 a.m., a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the neck at President Street and Utica Avenue, police said.

“We just see everybody was running, screaming and stuff like that,” said a woman who owns a shop nearby. “And we just run inside. And then the police, them run this way and that way. Everybody was just screaming and running.”
The three victims were transported to Kings County Hospital, where the first two victims were in stable condition. The 32-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition.
No arrests had been reported Monday as police searched for the suspect.
The stabbings took place as J'Ouvert celebrations were kicking off at dawn. Up to a million people are expected to line Eastern Parkway for the annual West Indian Day Parade later Monday.
