NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for three suspects who have allegedly been ripping items out of people’s hands on the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan in recent weeks.
The trio is wanted in at least four robberies since early December, the most recent being on the Upper East Side on the night of Dec. 28.
In that robbery, a 38-year-old woman was standing in front of a building near East 61st Street and Fifth Avenue around 9:10 p.m. when the thieves pushed her to the ground and snatched her bag, which contained iPads, police said. The victim suffered minor injuries.
The same suspects are also believed to be linked to a robbery in Sunset Park on Dec. 28. According to police, they followed a 17-year-old male victim on the subway, and when he exited the transit system at the 59th Street D/N/R station, they grabbed his bag.
A 49-year-old woman also had a bag snatched from her hands on State Street in Boerum Hill on Dec. 22. And a 24-year-old man was robbed of an iPad on Flatbush Avenue in Fort Greene on Dec. 5, police said.
